Connecticut Freedom Trail

The Connecticut Freedom Trail was authorized in 1995 by an act of the Connecticut General Assembly. Farmington sites on the trail include Amistad sites and Underground Railroad safe houses where fugitive slaves were hidden by abolitionists.

The 1619 Project Book Club is a a five week hybrid event that includes virtual visits plus an in person finale dinner session. We will examine The New York Times number 1 bestseller The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story.

Join us on this monthly series as we investigate Nikole-Jones’ expansion of the essays presented in the 1619 Project issue of The New York Times Magazine, in August 2019.The anthology of works was created by a myriad of authors on a wide range of topics, surrounding the repercussions of slavery in the United States.

Be a part of a historical new beginning as we discuss this landmark collection. Presented by Farmington Historical Society’s Andre Keitt in conjunction with the Farmington Libraries.
