Membership in the Farmington Historical Society helps promote interest in town history. We continue to develop and implement programs for the community that bring history to life.

A sample of our programs include:

• Amistad Tours  – Our updated tours have attracted hundreds of visitors including our students, neighbors, and travelers from out-of-state to learn about the sites associated with the Amistad Africans.
• Revolutionary War Encampment  – featuring Sheldon’s Horse at the Farmington Polo Grounds
• Our Happy Birthday America program honored local Veterans for their service.
• The Old Stone School House was open for visitors during July and August with docents presenting its history.
• Our annual Scarecrow Festival held in October for families to celebrate the fall season.
• Fisk Jubilee Singers in collaboration with The Mark Twain House performed at First Church of Christ in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Amistad captives stay in Farmington.
