Fisk Jubilee Singers

In honor of the 175th Anniversary of the  Amistad captives’ stay in FarmingtonThe Farmington Historical Society in partnership with The Mark Twain House and Museum proudly presented The Fisk Jubilee Singers. The event was held at the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Farmington, Connecticut in the historic 1772 Meetinghouse where the captives attended church during their stay. This African-American a cappella ensemble consists of students at Fisk University. The first group was organized in 1871 to tour and raise funds for college.
